Hub-Centric Rings Explained: Fitting 5×112 Wheels to Audi & VW
Share
If you drive an Audi or VW and love our wheels, this little $10–20 part is all that stands between you and a perfect fit.
Our wheels have a 66.6mm center bore (Mercedes spec). Audi and VW share the same 5×112 bolt pattern but use a smaller 57.1mm hub. Hub-centric rings bridge that gap.
What a hub-centric ring is
It's a precise plastic or aluminum collar that sits between your wheel's center bore and your car's hub. It fills the empty space so the wheel is centered by the hub itself — not just by the lug bolts.
Why it matters
When a wheel is centered on the hub (“hub-centric”), the car's weight rides on the hub and the wheel spins perfectly true. Without a ring on a larger-bore wheel, the wheel can sit very slightly off-center, which you'd feel as a vibration at speed. The right ring eliminates that.
Which ring you need
For Audi/VW with our wheels: 66.6mm (wheel) → 57.1mm (hub) hub-centric rings, one per wheel (a set of four). They're inexpensive and available everywhere — just match those two numbers. Not sure? Ask us and we'll point you to the right set.
Are they safe?
Yes — hub-centric rings are a standard, widely-used solution. The lug bolts still carry the clamping load; the ring simply keeps everything centered. Just make sure they're the correct size and seated fully before torquing your bolts to spec.

Frequently asked questions
Do Mercedes owners need rings?
No — Mercedes hubs are already 66.6mm, so our wheels are a direct fit.
Will rings affect ride quality?
No — correctly sized rings actually prevent vibration. They're the fix, not a compromise.
Where do I buy them?
Any reputable wheel-accessory supplier; just specify 66.6→57.1mm. We're happy to recommend a set.
